Georgia Jackson
Mrs. Georgia A. Jackson, 89, of 25 Wisteria Avenue,
a 60 year resident of Oneonta, died Thursday, March 1, at Fox
Hospital where she had been a patient since January 5.
She was born April 13, 1889 at Richmondville, a
daughter of Alvarado and Viola Mead. She was married to Arthur E.
Jackson on June 23, 1915. Mr. Jackson died April 18, 1940.
A housewife, she had been a resident of Oneonta
for 60 years.
She was a member of the Elm Park United Methodist
Church; Royal Rebekah Lodge 161, Oneonta, and the North American
Benefit Association.
Surviving are two sons, Adrian E. Jackson, 25
Wisteria Avenue, and Elwyn E. Jackson, Mobile, Alabama; a brother,
Floyd Mead, Hartwick; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild and
several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 5 p.m., Sunday, March 4,
at the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, Oneonta, with the Rev. Rees
Warring, pastor of the Elm Park United Methodist Church,
officiating.
Burial will be later in Butternut Valley Cemetery,
Garrattsville.
Friends may call at their convenience Saturday and
until 5 p.m., Sunday.
The family will be in attendance from 7 to 9 p.m.,
Saturday.
