Gregory, Adda
Ruth Hollister 1861-1915
Mrs. John B.
Gregory
Adda Ruth Gregory died at her home Sunday, Oct. 3d, 1915, at 1:45
p. m., aged 54 years and 3 days. She was the daughter of the late
Edwin C. and Sarah Ann Hollister. She is survivied by her husband,
John B. Gregory, a son, E. Basil Gregory, and daughter, A. May
Salisbury, and one sister, Mrs. Amy Wright of Stetsonville. Cause
of death was chronic heart trouble of several years duration. She
has been seriously ill since last Janurary. From that time until
June 20th she was unable to lie down and had to sit in a
chair. Since that time she has been a great sufferer, but she had
all hopes of recovered health until a short time before her death.
At her thirtieth anniversary, which was held at heir home Sept. 15th,
she seemed to enjoy every moment of the time. She was the telephone
operator in this place for nearly ten years, where she won many
friends. She was a member of the Baptist church at Welcome. The
funeral was held this Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock, Rev. L. A.
Rowley of Edmeston officiating, with burial in the Union Cemetery at
Edmeston.
Mrs. Salisbury, the daughter, has been efficient and untiring in
the care of her mother.
