New
Lisbon Newly Weds Are Give Surprise
New Lisbon, July 10---About 80 friends gathered at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Levi George Saturday evening to greet Mr. and Mrs. Leroy
George, who recently returned from their wedding trip.
So carefully had everything been planned that it was a complete
surprise to them. They were invited to spend the evening with Mr.
and Mrs. Roy Gilbert and about 9 o'clock the groom's father appeared
to tell them that a friend and his wife had come to see them. Upon
their arrival instead of two there were about 80 to greet them with
firecrackers, joy bells, rice and confetti.
The evening was pleasantly spent with games and music.
Refreshments were served, after which Roy Gilbert in behalf of those
present presented the bride and groom with many useful gifts,
consisting of china, glassware, table linen, kitchen utensils and a
substantial sum of money, to which they very feelingly responded.
At a late hour the guests departed, leaving best wishes to the
happy couple for a long and happy wedded life.
