Harrington, Mary
Gillette 1885--
DIES AFTER LONG
ILLNESS.
-------------------------------
Mrs. Mary G.
Harrington of Garrattsville Succumbs After Twenty Years.
Garrattsville, Mar. 30---Mrs. Mary Gillette Harrington, beloved
wife of Herman Harrington of this village, and well known and
respected resident of this community, died at her home here this
afternoon at 1:30 o'clock following an illness of 20 years with a
tumor. She had patiently suffered her misfortune and her many loving
characteristics will long be remembered by a host of friends.
About five weeks ago she underwent an operation from which she was
apparently rallying nicely and gaining steadily until about a week
ago when she began to fail.
Funeral services will be held from the family home here Thursday
afternoon at 1 o'clock with Rev. Albert Carston of Morris
officiating. Burial will be in Welcome cemetery.
Mary Gillette Harrington was born at New Lisbon February 2, 1885,
the daughter of Leander and Matilda Gardner Gillette, and her entire
lifetime had been spent in that township. September 14, 1904, she
was united in marriage with Herman Harrington, who with her parents
and with one brother, Henry Gillette of South Hartwick, survives
her.
She was a member of the First Baptist church of Morris and of the
Maccabees at Garrattsville.
