Hyland Herrick, the sixteen-year-old son of Mr. and
Mrs. Frank Herrick, died at their home on East street Sunday morning
April 2, of typhoid fever, after an illness of several weeks. The
case is a peculiarly sad one. Mr. and Mrs. Herrick removed from West
brook to Walton last fall to give their son, who was an only child,
an opportunity to attend the Walton High School. He was an unusually
bright boy and made rapid progress until in February he was stricken
with pneumonia. He was very ill but made a rapid recovery when he
was taken with typhoid fever. The funeral was held from the M. E.
church Tuesday.
