died at her home there Friday at 5 a. m. Funeral will be held at her
home Monday at 2 p. m. Rev. Samuel Little, Morris, will officiate.
Burial will be in Union cemetery, Edmeston.
Mr. Gardner was born May 27, 1857, in New Lisbon, daughter of
Donald and Margaret (Keller) Zeller. She was married to LaSelle
Gardner, New Lisbon, on Oct. 27, 1881. Mr. Gardner died in
September, 1926.
With the exception of a few years in St. Johnsville, her entire
life had been spent in New Lisbon.
Mrs. Gardner was the oldest member of the Methodist church,
Garrattsville.
Her only daughter, Mrs. Ida Harrington, with whom she had lived
for several years, died in September, 1945. Since her death, she had
been cared for by her granddaughter, Mrs. Dorothy Chase.
Besides the one granddaughter, she leaves a grandson, Kenneth
Harrington, New Lisbon, and six great-grandchildren.
Addendum: 1857 plus 88 equals 1945, but her headstone reads
1857-1946. So, she may have been 89 years old.
