Hickling, Elizabeth Ann Jackson
1881-1940
Mrs. Clarence Hickling Dies Near New
Lisbon
28 Jul 1940
New Lisbon—Mrs. Clarence Hickling,
58, died suddenly Sunday morning at her home near Stevens Corners.
She had suffered recently from high blood pressure. The funeral will
be held from the residence Tuesday at 3. Rev. L. L. MacClain of the
Hartwick Baptist church will officiate, and burial will be at Lena.
The deceased, who was Miss Elizabeth
Ann Jackson, was a lifelong resident of the town of New Lisbon, where
she was born Oct. 10, 1881, daughter of Amasa and Isabelle (Van
Waring) Jackson. Her marriage to Mr. Hickling, also of New Lisbon,
took place Dec. 24, 1902. A former member of the Methodist church,
she had attended the Baptist church at Welcome in recent years.
Surviving are her husband; a daughter,
Mrs. Harriet Bunn, and a son, Clessen, both of New Lisbon; a sister
Mrs. Ivah Garlock, Richfield Springs; a brother, Willis Jackson, New
Lisbon; four grandsons, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
PS. I'm unsure if Isabelle's maiden name is Van Waring or Man Waring. I've found it both ways. Van Waring
seems to make more sense to me.
