Passes at Parshall Hospital Here

John
Henry Gardner, 90, 24 Orchard street, who had been in failing health
for a year, passed away Sunday afternoon at the Parshall hospital,
where he had been a patient for the past two weeks. Funeral services
will be conducted by Rev. R. A. Tennies, a former Presbyterian pastor
at Laurens, at the Sloan funeral parlors at Morris Wednesday
afternoon at 2. Burial will be in Hillington cemetery at Morris.
Friends may call Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr.
Gardner was born in the town of New Lisbon, Aug. 5, 1849, a son of
Thomas and Lavinia (Wellman) Gardner. On Sept. 9 1875, he was wed
to Samantha Mickle of New Lisbon. Survivors include one daughter,
Isabelle, with whom he had been living at 24 Orchard street. Mrs. J.
W. McGrady of Clear Lake, Iowa, a niece, also remains.
Mr.
Gardner was a member of the Laurens Presbyterian church and of the
Laurens Grange. Prior to coming to Oneonta, he was a farmer at
Laurens. He had many friends who sincerely mourn his demise.
