The
funeral of Viggo J. Klindt, who died Wednesday afternoon as the
result of a heart attack while working in Franklin, was held at 2 p.
m. Sunday at Sloan's Funeral Home.
The Rev. Samuel Little, pastor of the Methodist
church officiated. Burial was in Hillington Cemetery, Morris.
Mr. Klindt was born Nov. 3, 1877 at Barton, Iowa, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Kristian Klindt. The Klindts moved to Laurens in
1915 and have lived there since that time.
On June 30, 1923, he married the former Vera Thurston
of New Lisbon at Corinth, where she was a teacher. She survives, as
do his parents, two sons, Robert and Francis of Morris; a daughter
Mrs. Maurice Caldera, Jr., of Williamsport Pa.; two grandchildren,
Cheri Lou and Suzanne Caldera; a brother Theobald Klindt of
Downsville; a niece, Miss Barbara Klindt of Downsville; four
nephews, Roger, Gary and Allen Kllindt, also of Downsville, and
Cpl. Herbert Klindt, AAF, Boston, Mass.; and a sister, Miss Marie
Klindt of Chicago, Ill.
For a number of years Mr. Klindt operated a garage at
Morris, until he retired because of ill health. Since then he has
been engaged with his sons in a well drilling enterprise.
He was a member of the Congregational Church of Lyle,
Minn., and active in the Morris Methodist Church, a member of
Louisville Grange and a charter member of the State Well Drillers
Association.
