Gale, Edward F. 1899-1977

EDWARD GALE

BAINBRIDGE---A funeral for Edward F. Gale, RD 3, was scheduled at 2 p.m. today at the United Methodist Church, Sidney, with the Rev. Donald W. Bartholomay, pastor, officiating.
Mr. Gale, formerly of New Hartford, died Friday (Aug. 5, 1977) at St. Luke's Hospital, Utica. He was 77. Born Sept. 24, 1899, in McDonough, he was the son of Frederick and Bertha (Miller) Gale.
He married Mary Boice on Nov. 25, 1948, Sidney. He formerly was married to Helen Shaw Bodine, Oxford, who died in March of 1947.
A retired railway mail clerk for the U.S. Postal Service, Mr. Gale was a member of the United Methodist Church, Sidney; a 54-year member of the Sidney Masonic Lodge No. 801 F.&A.M.; a 50 year member of the Lake Ludlow Club, Oxford; a member of the Narfe Association, Utica, and the Sidney and Chenango County Historical Societies.
In addition to his widow, Mary Boice Gale, Bainbridge, Mr. Gale is survived by one brother Clinton Gale, Schenectady, one sister Mrs. Charles (Helen) Root, Sidney, and several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney. Contributions in Mr. Gale's memory may be made to the United Methodist Church. Arrangements were by C. H. Landers Inc. Sidney.

Obituary was published in the Norwich Evening Sun.

His funeral was on Aug. 9, 1977 and his middle name was Frederick.
