Myrtle Wilson
UNADILLA --- Mrs. Myrtle E. Wilson, 85, Unadilla, died
unexpectedly Tuesday, March 18, 1975, at Fox Memorial Hospital,
Oneonta, following a short illness.
Mrs. Wilson was born March 16, 1890 at Trout Creek, a daughter-in
of John W. and Elizabeth (Bundy) Peck. She married Lester G. Wilson
on July 2, 1913 at Garrattsville. Mr. Wilson died October 9, 1968.
The Wilsons owned and operated a dairy farm in Garrattsville for
approximately 36 years. Following their retirement in 1955, they
made their home in Unadilla.
Mrs. Wilson was a graduate of Unadilla High School, Class of
1909, and the training class of 1910. She taught school for several
years.
She was a member of the Unadilla United Methodist Church; the
WSCS; the WCTU, and was a former Sunday School teacher; a member
of the Unadilla Senior Citizens Club; a former Seventh Degree member
of Ouleanna Grange, and a member of Unadilla Grange.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Elizabeth) Hilts,
Oneonta; a sister, Mrs. Mellin Hill, Delhi; a daughter -in-law,
Mrs. Grace Wilson, New Lisbon; seven grandchildren; four
great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral and committal services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March
21, at the Unadilla United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Robert H.
Darling, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be later in Evergreen Cemetery, Unadilla.
