Mrs.
Evalyn P. Craig, Former Oneonta Resident Dies
Mrs. Evalyn P. Craig, 48 years old, wife of James
Herbert Craig, of Edmeston, and formerly a resident of this city,
died yesterday morning at 5 o'clock at the Mary Imogene Bassett
hospital in Cooperstown. The deceased had suffered from ill health
for the past year and had been confined to the hospital for the past
four months.
The funeral will be held from the Bookhout funeral
home in this city on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Robert E.
Gibbey, pastor at Ouaquaga, will officiate. Burial will take place
in the family plot of Glenwood cemetery in this city.

Funeral services for Mrs. Evalyn P. Craig of Edmeston
and formerly a resident of this city, whose death was briefly noted
in Saturday's Star, was held yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock from
the Bookhout funeral home. Rev. R. E. Gibby, pastor of the Methodist
church at Ouaquaga, officiating. The body was placed in the vault of
the Glenwood cemetery and burial will take place in the spring.
The bearers were. F. B. Pratt, L. J. Barnes, Harry
Hoffman and E. L. Doyle.
Many floral tributes were received from friends and
relatives in Norwich, Edmeston, and Elko, Nev., attesting the high
esteem in which Mrs. Craig was held.
Mrs. Craig was born at Deposit, May 12, 1882, the
daughter of Mark H. and Frances E. Washburn. In 1910 she was untied
in marriage to Mr. Craig at Scranton, Pa.
Suriviving besides her husband are three sisters,
Mrs. Mildred Warner of Elko, Nev., Mrs. W. A. Hilton of Loveland,
Col., and Mrs. G. F. Harle of Vernon, besides several nieces and
nephews.
Those from out-of-town who attended the funeral were:
Frank Craig of Johnson City, Winifred Craig and Francis Washburn of
Binghamton.
