GARRATTSVILLE---Mrs. Frances A. Rockwell, 96, a
native of Garrattsville, died Saturday, January20, in Fox Hospital,
Oneonta, following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m.,
Wednesday, January 23, at the Garrattsville United Presbyterian
Church, with the Rev. Roger Beach, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be later in Butternut Valley Cemetery.
She was born Nov. 1, 1871 in Garrattsville, a
daughter of Lansing B. and Julia (Gregory) Paine. She was married to
A. Clark Rockwell on March 11, 1891 in Garrattsville. He died in
1943.
She was the oldest member of the Garrattsville United
Presbyterian Church which she had attended her entire lifetime.
Surviving are a son, Stuart Rockwelll,
Garrattsville; a daughter, Mrs. Harold Lasher, also of
Garrattsville; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and one
great-great-grandchild.
Friends may call at the Houk-Johnston Funeral Home,
Edmeston, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
