M. Coy Passes Away at Edmeston Home
Edmeston, March 10---Claude M. Coy, 57, passed away
at his home on South street at about 6 o'clock this morning. Death
was caused by Bright's disease.
Born, April 7, 1874, at Garrattsville, the son of
Jane Redd and Eli Coy, for many years he followed the trade of
carpenter and contractor.
The deceased was greatly interested in Masonic work
and well known throughout the Otsego-Schoharie district. He was a
past master of Farmer's lodge, F. and A. M., No. 553, and served
several terms as patron of the Edmeston chapter, Order of the Eastern
Star, No. 391. He was a past grand officer of the chapter, being at
one time an assistant grand lecturer of the Otsego-Schoharie
district. He was also a member of Hillington chapter, Royal Arch
Masons, Norwich commandery, Knights Templar, and Ziyara temple,
Ancient Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine.
Surviving are his wife Edna, and a brother, Emmett
Coy. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock
in charge of Farmer's lodge, F. and A. M.
