GARRATTSVILLE---William R. Turnbull, 87 of
Garrattsville died early Tuesday morning in the Mallory Convalescent
Home, Morris, where he had lived for the past nine months.
Funeral service will be at 3:30 p. m., Saturday,
August 22, in the Garrattsville Presbyterian Church with the Rev.
Roger Beach, pastor, officiating. He will be assisted by the Rev.
Wilfred Lyon, pastor of the Garrattsville Church. Burial will be in
Brick Schoolhouse Cemetery.
Mr. Turnbull was born on July 29, 1872, in the Town
of New Lisbon, the eldest of seven children. His parents were
Richard and Jane (Hume) Turnbull.
In 1913, he married Fannie McLaury of North
Kortright. She died in 1932.
For many years, he taught in district schools in
Otsego and Delaware Counties. Later, he became a farmer near North
Kortright.
The last part of his life was spent in
Garrattsville.
He was a member of North Kortright Presbyterian
Church and a member of the Burlington Grange.
Surviving are a sister, Miss Elizabeth Turnbull; a
brother George Turnbull, both of Garrattsville; and several nieces
and nephews.

Hartwick.
