FLOYD A. WILBER
Mr. Floyd A. Wilber, 79, a lifetime resident of New Berlin,
died October 4, 1973 enroute to the hospital in Norwich, following
a heart attack at his home. He was born January 1, 1894, son of
Fred E. and Adra (Camp) Wilber.
Mr. Wilber was a graduate of New Berlin High School, class of
1913 and of Colgate University in 1917.
On November 4, 1916 he married Jennie Southern, who survives with
one son; Norman F. Wilber of New Berlin; two grandsons: Frederick
Wilber of Montpelier, Vt. And Dennis Wilber of Plainfield, Vt.;
several cousins.
Mr. Wilber was a life deacon of the First Baptist Church in New
Berlin; member of Farmers Lodge F. & A. M., Edmeston; former
director of Susquehanna Boy Scout Council; member N. Y. S.
Association of Educational Salesmen; charter member of National
Audio-Visual Association; member of the New Berlin Senior Citizens
Club.
Two volumes of history for this area were published by Mr. Wilber
in recent years and the third volume was nearly ready at the time of
his death.
Funeral services were held from the First Baptist Church, New
Berlin, Sunday, October 7 with Rev. Donald L. Aubrey, pastor and Rev.
Theodore Conklin of Syracuse, officiating.
Burial was made in Fairview Cemetery, New Berlin.
