S. Niles Dies Friday at Home in Morris

Service For Esteemed Resident Held on Monday

and Three Children Survive
Morris, Aug. 23---Edward S. Niles, one of Morris
well known citizens died at his late home on Friday. Death came
following a long illness during which time Mr. Niles was confined
most of the time to his bed.
Deceased was born in Madison county, July, 1858, and
was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Niles. March 1, 1880, he married
Katharine Parker of Georgetown. Their first home was established at
Smyrna, Chenango county. After residing in several different places
as a cheese maker and carpenter, they came to Morris, some 30 years
ago.
The children of this couple were, Floyd, of Lee
Center, Howard, who died several years ago, Mrs. Edith Warner of
Middlebury, Vt., and Guy, who lives at home. The living children and
mother are left deeply to lament his demise. The funeral was held at
his late home Monday afternoon at 2 p. m. Rev. C. E. Vermilya had
charge of the service with relatives and a few friends present.
