Hartwick, July 21---Mrs. Harry J. Sloan, a
former resident of Hartwick, passed away at her home at Washington
Mills, Wednesday, July 17. She had been a great sufferer from cancer
for the past two years, and all that medical skill and loving hands
could do did not avail. She bore her suffering very patiently always
keeping her trust in the Lord. She was a very consistent Christian
and a loving wife and mother.
The funeral was held at her home Friday morning and
the body was brought to Hartwick, where very impressive services
were held at the grave by Rev. Mr. Barrett of Chadwicks, who also
officiated at the home service. The bearers were Ralph Ainslie,
Bert Dickenson, Arthur Eldred, and Arthur Palmer.

residing at home; also one sister, Mrs. William Ottaway of New
Lisbon, and one brother, William Garlock, of Garrattsville, who
