Miss
Gwen O. Owen to Wed Dewitt Taber on Saturday
Cooperstown, Oct. 28---Miss Gwen O. Owen, member of
the Mary Imogene Bassett hospital nursing staff for the past year,
has resigned her position and gone to the home of her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Richard Owen in Richfield Springs. On Saturday she will be
married to Dewitt Taber, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William I.
Taber of Utica, in the Little church Around the Corner in New York
city.
During the past week, Miss Owen has been the guest of
honor at several dinners and showers. A farewell dinner and laundry
shower was given her by 25 day nurses of the hospital at the Blue
Anchor Tea room, and a dinner and handkerchief shower was also held
in her honor by Mrs. Ainsile Buck and Miss Daisey C. Reed of
Richfield Springs.
The couple will make their home in New York city upon
their return from their honeymoon, where Mr. Taber is affiliated with
the interests of the National Broadcasting company.
