Tilyou Is Dead at 87
Frank Tilyou, 87, a retired farmer, died yesterday
afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Pearl L. Bowers, 12
Chester St.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p. m. Sunday at
the Howard Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. George Thomson,
pastor of the Main Street Baptist Church, officiating. The body will
be placed in a vault at Franklin Cemetery and burial will be later in
Masonville.
Mr. Tilyou was born in the Town of Norwich on Aug.
18, 1860, the son of John C. and Jane Tilyou. Survivors are his
wife, Harriet Tilyou; two daughters, Mrs. Louis Alger, Unadilla RD,
and Mrs. Bowers, with whom he made his home; one son, Fenimore
Tilyou, 39 Ceperley Ave.; a niece, Mrs. Maude Wylie, Binghamton;
eight grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Mr. and Mrs. Tilyou would have marked their 64th
wedding anniversary Friday.
Date of death Feb. 6, 1948 according to Harriet's obituary.
