Strait, Anna (Grayson) 1879-1941 New Lisbon Obituary
"NEW LISBON - Mrs. Anna Strait, wife of Bert Strait passed away shortly
after noon, Saturday, June 21st at her home at New Lisbon, at the age of
sixty-one. She had been in declining health for nearly four years with
Hodgkins disease and since January confined to her bed. The funeral
was held from the Stilwell Funeral parlors at Hartwick, Tuesday
afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. William Gartshore, pastor of the United
Presbyterian church at Garrattsville officiated, assisted by the Rev.
C. E. Vermilya of the Methodist church. Interment was in Hillington
cemetery at Morris ... Anna Grayson Bertwell was born in Providence, R.
I., August 13, 1879. Her parents, William and Hannah Grayson, came from
England. She was twice married, her first husband, Harold Bertwell, to
whom she was married nearly thirty-five years ago, died a number of
years ago. Their entire married life was passed in Providence and
Warwick, R. I. Coming to New Lisbon, she married Bert Strat of Morris,
June 15, 1935, their home being at New Lisbon since their marriage.
Surviving besides her husband are one brother, J. Grayson of Providence;
a sister-in-law, Mrs. Ella Grayson and one niece, Mrs. Pearl Perkins of
Warwick, together with a wide circle of friends who unite with the
