NEW LISBON---Funeral services for Bert Strait, 83, who died Monday, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Sloan Funeral Parlor in Morris with the Rev. E. Scott Farley, retired minister of Oneonta officiating. Burial will be in Hillington Cemetery, Morris.
Mr. Strait was born March 29, 1873 in the Town of Laurens, a son of James and Florence (Lent) Strait. He married Lela Frick of Otego on Dec. 24, 1900. She died July 8, 1934. Most of their married life was spent in the Township of Laurens.
On June 11, 1935 he married Mrs. Anna Butwell of Rhode Island and they lived in New Lisbon until she died June 21, 1941.
A farmer nearly all his life he was a member of the Morris Methodist Church.
Surviving are one brother, James Strait, New Lisbon; one sister, Mrs. Mabelle Sutherland, Ontario, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will be in attendance at the Sloan Funeral Home, Morris from 7-9 p. m.

It is obvious that the last name was incorrectly spelled in the 1880 census. Also, Rosnell Strait should be Roswell Strait.
