Charles
Thompson Of Oneonta Dies
Charles E. Thomson died at his home, 381 Chestnut
St., at 2:30 p. m. yesterday.
Funeral services will be held at Bookhout Funeral
Home at 2 p. m. Friday. The Rev. Charles H. McClung, pastor of
United Presbyterian church, will officiate.
Burial will be in Oneonta Plains Cemetery. Friends
may call at the funeral home until Friday noon.
Mr. Thomson was born at Elk Creek, Delhi, Aug. 31,
1874, son of Ezekiel and Amelia (White) Thompson. On Feb. 17, 1897
he married Almira Thomson of New Kingston.
The first few years of his married life were spent on
the Thompson Homestead at Elk Creek and in 1906 he moved to Oneonta.
He is a past master of Oneonta Grange.
Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters,
Mrs. Wendell Couse, Oneonta, and Mrs. Carlton Estabrook.
Susquehanna, Pa., a son, Howard Thompson, Oneonta; four brothers,
James and Russell of Delhi, Leslie of Oneonta and Maynard of St.
Petersburg, Fla., and three grandchildren all of Oneonta.
