Mrs.
Ida M. Smith
MORRIS --- Mrs. Ida Mae Smith, 67, died Monday at her
home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Thursday in the
Morris Methodist Church. The Rev. Winifred Lyon, pastor, will
officiate, assisted by Rev. Samuel Little of Endwell. Burial will be
in Hillington Cemetery.
She was born May 3, 1887, daughter of Charles and
Sarah (Morse) Light. She was married to Albert Smith, Oct. 25, 1905.
Mrs. Smith was a member of the Methodist Church and
the OES.
Surviving are her husband; one son, Cecil of
Morris; one granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
It also includes a photo of her gravestone along with her husband, Albert Smith.
Addendum: Ida's tombstone gives her birth as 1878
instead of the 1887 noted
in her obituary. It would seem that the 1878 is the
correct date. On the 1880
census, she is listed as 2 yrs. Old. On the 1900
census, she is in her parent's
household, age 22, listed as Ida Hull, and widowed.
In conclusion, the corrected information would make her
76 or 77 at the time of her death instead of 67.
