Della C. Southworth
MORRIS---Mrs. Della C. Southworth, 90, of Morris,
died April 27 following an illness of several years.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Sloan
Funeral Home, Morris, with the Rev. Arthur Clum, rector of Christ
Episcopal Church, Gilbertsville, officiating in the absence of the
rector of Zion Church, the Rev. Carl Truesdale. Burial will be in
Hillington Cemetery, Morris.
Mrs. Southworth was born Nov. 9, 1867 in Maple Grove,
Town of Morris, daughter of Erastus and Sarahette (Bennett) Jakes
Carr. She was married to William R. Southworth, New Lisbon, Sept.
21, 1885. He died Feb. 12, 1930.
She was a resident of New Lisbon until 1948 when she
went to make her home with her son, Claude Robert Southworth,
Endicott. He died Sept. 1, 1955, and she came to live with her
niece, Mrs. Mary Edwards, Oneonta. For the past year she had been
cared for by a cousin, Mrs. Florence Mallory of Morris.
She was a member of Zion Episcopal Church.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Nellie Jester, New
Lisbon; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Nettie Southworth, Johnson City;
two nieces, Mrs. Edwards and Mrs. Lena Culver, Cannonsburg, Pa.; two
nephews, Harry Pegg, Maple Grove, and Ira Pegg, Morris, and several
cousins.
