Frank Tilyou Is Dead at 87

Frank Tilyou, 87, a retired farmer, died yesterday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Pearl L. Bowers, 12 Chester St.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p. m. Sunday at the Howard Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. George Thomson, pastor of the Main Street Baptist Church, officiating. The body will be placed in a vault at Franklin Cemetery and burial will be later in Masonville.

Mr. Tilyou was born in the Town of Norwich on Aug. 18, 1860, the son of John C. and Jane Tilyou. Survivors are his wife, Harriet Tilyou; two daughters, Mrs. Louis Alger, Unadilla RD, and Mrs. Bowers, with whom he made his home; one son, Fenimore Tilyou, 39 Ceperley Ave.; a niece, Mrs. Maude Wylie, Binghamton; eight grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Mr. and Mrs. Tilyou would have marked their 64^th wedding anniversary Friday.

Date of death Feb. 6, 1948 according to Harriet's obituary.

Sidney Methodist Church

New Berlin---Miss Mary I. Boice, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank C. Boice of New Berlin, and Edward F. Gale of New Hartford, were married at 7:30 p. m. Thursday in the Methodist Church at Sidney.

The Rev. Robert P. Kellerman officiated at the double ring ceremony.

Ward Aldrich played the organ and accompanied the soloist, Mrs. Arthur Crawshaw of Walton, who sang “Because” and “I Love You Truly.”

The bride chose a gown of autumn fuchsia with crystal trim. The headdress was of matching net and roses. She carried a colonial bouquet of mixed flowers.

The matron of honor, Mrs. Hiram S. Boice of Walton, wore a gown of grey crepe, and a corsage of pink rosebuds.

Clinton M. Gale of Oneonta was best man for his brother and ushers were Arthur J. Boice of Edmeston and Elbert M. Gale of Sidney.

Mother of the bride, Mrs. Boice, chose blue crepe with black accessories and wore a corsage of pink rosebuds.

A reception was held in the church parlors following the service given by the WSCS under the chairmanship of Mrs. Clarence Wheeler.

The decorations were of yellow and bronze pompons. The wedding cake, made by Mrs. Ivan Bryden of Hamden, centered the bride's table. Mrs. Charles Root and Mrs. Clinton Gale assisted.

Mr. Gale was graduated from the Sidney High School and is employed as a railway mail clerk on the New York Central.

The couple left for a wedding trip to Washington and Virginia.

They will make their home at Paris Road, New Hartford.
