ONEONTA — Mrs. Mary C.
Stanhouse, wife of the late Rosslyn J. Stanhouse, of Oneonta, died at
the Eddy Ford Nursing Home, Cohoes, on Monday, Sept. 6, 1999.Mrs. Stanhouse was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School, the State University College at Oneonta and attended Albany State College.
She was a former member of the faculty of the schools of Brunswick. Mrs. Stanhouse continued her teaching career in the Oneonta public school system, from which she retired.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Oneonta, the American Legion Auxiliary of Post 259 of Oneonta, the New York State Retired Teachers Association, the Otsego Retired Teachers Association, former member of the Oneonta Woman's Club and the Beach Manor Villa Association of Venice, Fla.
Mrs. Stanhouse is survived by one son, Wayne R. Stanhouse of Marietta, Ga.; one granddaughter, Jennifer Stanhouse of Atlanta; two sisters, Mrs. Vincent (Ruth) Roarke of Brunswick, and Mrs. Carl (Alice) Spalt of Sycaway; two brothers, Clarence Calhoun of Brunswick, and Robert Calhoun of Melrose; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday evening, Sept. 8, 1999, at 7 p.m. at the McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, Troy. Graveside funeral services at the West Oneonta Cemetery will be private. Mrs. Stanhouse's family will be present at the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oneonta, on Thursday, Sept. 9, 1999, from 1 to 2 p.m. for those who wish may call.
It has been requested that in lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, 919 N. Michigan Ave., Suite 1100, Chicago, Ill. 60611-1676 in loving memory of Mary C. Stanhouse.
Funeral arrangements are by the Bookhout Funeral Home, Oneonta.
