Holly P. Decker

MORRIS — Holly P. Decker, 87, of Morris, died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998, at the Mountainside Nursing Home in Margaretville.
She was born April 30, 1911, in Chadsford, Pa., the daughter of Carl Johan Petersen and Hensina (Rasmussen) Petersen.
She was married to George Wendell Decker on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24, 1932, at the St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Laurens. He died Nov. 16, 1984.
She and her husband owned and operated the Associated Graning Co. in Morris.
She was very instrumental in bringing the 4-H horse project to New York state.
Holly is survived by a daughter, Sharon Werner, and her husband, Frank, of Morris; a grandson, Paul Werner and his wife, Teresa, of Norwich; and several cousins.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Jan. 7, 1999, at 1 p.m. at the St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Laurens, with the Rev. Lynn Ash officiating. Burial will be in the spring in the Hillington Cemetery in Morris. Calling hours will be from noon on Thursday until service time at 1 p.m.
Friends are asked to donate to the St. Matthew's Lutheran Church of Laurens or the Morris Emergency Squad in her memory.
Funeral arrangements are by the Johnston Funeral Home, Morris.
