Garlock, Katherine 1911-2000 Attended Morris School

NEWPORT — Miss Katherine M. Garlock, 89, of Newport, and formerly of Oneonta, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, at the Little Falls Hospital.
Born in Garrattsville on March 23, 1911, Katherine was a daughter of the late William and Ivah Jackson Garlock.
She graduated from Morris High School and furthered her education at Morrisville College, from where she received her licensed practical nursing certification.
For 22 years, Katherine served as a nurse at the A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta, from where she retired.
She was a member of the Main Street Baptist Church as well as the Retired L.P.N. Association, both of Oneonta.
Miss Garlock was a 13-year resident of Garden View Manor in Otego before moving to Valley Health Services in Herkimer one year ago.
Survivors include two nephews and their wives, Elbert and Helen Garlock and Douglas and Marie Garlock, all of Newport; one sister-in-law, Lucille Garlock of Skaneateles; and many grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was predeceased by her two brothers, Carl and Elbert Garlock Sr.
Funeral services will be held at the Autenrith Funeral Home, Newport, on Saturday at 3 p.m., with the Rev. William H. Stubba, pastor of the Cold Brook United Methodist Church, officiating.
Spring interment will take place in the Newport Cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be one hour before the funeral on Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m.
