GILBERTSVILLE — Lois Rowe Foster, 85, of Gilbertsville died Tuesday, July 22, 2003, at her home with her family at her side.
She was born Oct. 12, 1917, in Rockwells Mills, the daughter of Arthur Musson and Sarah (Rowe) Musson.
She married William Foster on Oct. 19, 1935, in Mount Upton. He died June 25, 1992.
She was a homemaker and a lifelong area resident.
She was recognized several years ago as a 50-year member of the First Baptist Church of Gilbertsville.
Lois is survived by her children, Arlene Gavitt of Alton, Va.; Stephen Foster and wife, Jacqueline, of Gilbertsville; Richard Foster and companion, Anna Dotey, of Okeechobee, Fla.; Glenn Foster and wife, Rose, of Gilbertsville; her grandchildren, Kathy Tolls, Vicki Lee, Kenny, Kerry and Dale Gavitt, Angela, William and Victor Foster, Kim Gorman; her stepgrandchildren include Janie Hunt, Lisa Taylor and Amy Robinson; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Calling hours will be held at the Johnston Funeral Home on Thursday evening, from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 25, 2003, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Committal services and burial will be in the Brookside Cemetery in Gilbertsville.
In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make donations to the Catskill Area Hospice & Palliative Care Inc., 542 Main St., Oneonta, NY 13820 in Lois' memory. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Funeral arrangements are by the Johnston Funeral Home of Morris.
