Victim Dies at Sidney
Unadilla---LaVerne Johnson died yesterday morning at
Sidney Hospital as a result of injuries suffered in a tractor
accident May 25.
Born March 23, 1910, in Norwich, the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Jed Johnson, he was married April 18, 1931, in Unadilla to
Bernice Stanley. He also is survived by two children, Patricia and
Richard, Sidney; his parents: five brothers, Dr. Seth Johnson of
Ithaca, Dr. Sam Johnson of Kimber Hook, Dr. Morris Johnson of
Hudson, Ray Johnson of Gilbertsville and Robert Johnson of Hudson;
three sisters, Mrs. S.W. Utely of Kinder Hook, Mrs. Floyd Stanley
of New York City and Mrs. George Winn of Atlantic City, N. J.
Most of his life had been spent in Unadilla. He was
a member of the Odd Fellows here and the Unadilla Grange.
Funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 p. m. in the Joyce
Funeral Parlors. The Rev. Wilton J. Dubrick of Sidney Methodist
Church will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Hill Cemetery,
Unadilla.
