Miss Laura Putnam Bride
Cooperstown, June 28—Miss Laura I. Putnam,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Putnam, and Joseph C. Cooke, son of
Dr. and Mrs. Joseph B. Cooke, both of this village, were united in
marriage quietly this morning, Justice of the Peace Russel Warren
performing the ceremony. The couple were attended by Miss Gertrude
Spurbeck of Fly Creek and LeRoy F. Smith of Cooperstown.
Both young people are life-long and favorably known
residents of this village. The bride graduated from the local High
school in 1921, and the groom with the class of 1922. Mr. Cooke was
for a considerable time engaged as a news reporter with the Utica
Daily Press, and more recently has been associated as has Mrs. Cooke
on the clerical staff of the Fenimore hotel. A wide circle of
friends will join in congratulations.
