New Lisbon, July 5---Funeral service for Clarence
Wells Barton, whose death was noticed briefly in Thursday's issue of
The Star, were held from the family home at 2 o'clock Saturday
afternoon, Rev. C. E. Vermilya, pastor of the Methodist church of
Garrattsville, officiating. Burial was made in the family plot in
the Butternut Valley cemetery near the Brick School house.
The deceased was the oldest son of Apolis and Anna
Perkins Barton and was born in the town of Burlington, April 18,
1909. When he was nine years old he suffered an attack of whooping
cough from which he never recovered. He had been confined to his bed
for the past six weeks.
Besides his parents, he is survived by a brother,
Edgar Barton, residing at home and several uncles, aunts and cousins.
