Philo F. Beers died in
Hancock, Sunday, Feb. 28, aged 71 years.
Deceased was born in
the town of Walton, 1820, being a son of Hezekiah Beers, who came
from Connecticut to Walton in the early part of this century. He
grew to manhood in Walton, and was a farmer on Dunk Hill up to about
1848. In that year he moved his family and household goods to
Hancock on a raft. He has since been engaged in several lines of
business. His father, Hezekiah Beers, was the pioneer of
Beerston—Herald.
