EDMESTON — Ruby May Montgomery of Edmeston died Monday, Aug. 26, 2002, at The Meadows in Middlefield.
She was born on May 13, 1911, in Centralia, Ill., the daughter of George A. Clapper and Ada (Johnson) Clapper.
She was married to Clyde Robert Goodier on Sept. 23, 1931. He died April 24, 1970. She then married Irving Montgomery on April 3, 1982. He died in March of 1989.
She was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Edmeston, and a former member of the Edmeston Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
She had been employed at the Kraft Foods Plant in South Edmeston for many years as well as working at several Edmeston area shops over the years.
Ruby will be remembered for her crocheting and her love of her family.
She is survived by a daughter, Beverly Colegrove and husband, John, of Edmeston; her grandchildren, John Colegrove Jr. of Hudson, Nadine Lasher and husband, Victor, of Garrattsville, Nanette Fikes and husband, Terry, of Burlington Flats, Isabelle Tophoven and husband, Timothy, of Edmeston, and Chad Goodier and wife, Lisa, of Hinesville, Ga. She was also blessed by her great-grandchildren, Cassandra and Matthew Fikes, Ashley and Denver Colegrove, Thomas and Sueellyn Tophoven, Nicholas and Michaela Lasher, and Hannah and Gavin Goodier.
She was predeceased by a son, Gary Goodier, who died May 24, 1986; a sister, Opal Hawkins; and three brothers, Everett, Harry and Laurel Clapper.
Calling hours will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Houk-Johnston-Terry Funeral Home on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2002, from the Second Baptist Church in Edmeston.
Committal services and burial will be in the Edmeston Union Cemetery in Edmeston.
Funeral arrangements are by the Houk-Johnston-Terry Funeral Home of Edmeston.
