Dibble Jr. Everest 1954-2013 Gilbertsville NY Obituary



GILBERTSVILLE-DIBBLE JR., EVEREST “ED”; Everest “Ed” Dibble Jr., 59, of Gilbertsville, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2013, at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown. Ed was born in New Berlin, the son of Everest E. Dibble Sr. and Joan K (Holden) Dibble. Ed married Patricia Kuhn on March 17, 1972 in South New Berlin. He worked for D&H Railroad and was then self employed as a tractor trailer driver for many years. Ed was a member of The Boy Scouts of America from the Cub Scouts to Otschodela Council President. He served as a National Board Member of the Boy Scouts of America and it was during these times he learned just how much he enjoyed traveling. Ed served as a Town Councilmen for 12 years for the town of Butternuts. He was a 4H leader and also the Coordinator of the antique tractor exhibits at the Otsego County Fair for several years. He was a session member of the Gilbertsville Presbyterian Church for several years. He enjoyed camping, hunting, and golfing but what Ed enjoyed most of all was spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends. One of Ed’s many qualities was that he was always able to find the good in a person. Ed is survived by his wife of 41 years, Patricia; his two sons, Everest Dibble III (Kristen and Timothy Dibble (Lisa); his two grandchildren Lane and Alice Dibble and several brother and sister in laws. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church of Gilbertsville from 10 a.m. to noon at which time a funeral service will be held with the Rev. Mark Piedmont of The First Presbyterian Church of Gilbertsville officiating with guest officiates Rev. Kurt Funke, Rev. Tom Davis and Rev. Randy Palada. Committal services and interment will follow in the Brookside Cemetery in Gilbertsville.
