Audree Lillian Lamb
Audree Lillian Lamb, lifelong resident of Morris, passed away August 3,
2013 at Fox Memorial Nursing Home in Oneonta. Born October 6, 1937 to
Lillian Mable (Pickens) and Fred DeWitt Lamb, she was 75.
A graduate of Morris Central School, Audree worked as early as age 12 at
the Village Library and served as Librarian from in recent years. A
favorite part of her library tenure was spending time with young
children and teen volunteers. In addition to her library work, she was
also employed at times as a secretary and housekeeper and also tended
children for several local families.
Family, friends, and library patrons knew Audree as an outstanding cook.
She made the “world’s best” deviled eggs, potato salad and beef dishes.
Audree is survived by three sisters: Marjorie Wild and Sheila Twaits of
Morris and Ethel Goodspeed of Garratsville. Two brothers, Douglas and
Donald Lamb of Pittsburg, predeceased her, as did brothers-in-law Harry
Wild, Frank Twaits, and Roland Goodspeed. Many nieces and nephews also
survive.
Sharon and Susan (Hootie) Emerson of Oneonta, and their brothers Mark
and Ralph, members of Audree’s extended family, spent many days in her
care and occupied a special place in her heart.
Audree’s family is appreciative of the excellent care she received from
A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital and Fox Nursing Home. Many people provided
help and support during Audree’s six-month illness, in particular her
sister Sheila, Beth and Wayne Benjamin, and Bonnie Tracy.
A memorial service honoring Audree’s life is scheduled for Saturday,
August 17, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Johnston Funeral Home, Morris, NY.
Luncheon will follow in the social rooms of the Morris Methodist Church.

The family requests that memorial donations be submitted to the Village
Library, POB 126, Morris, NY 13808 or the National Children’s Leukemia
Foundation in Audree’s name. Arrangements are by the Johnston Funeral
Home of Morris.
