Helen A. Schwarze

GARRATTSVILLE — Helen A. Schwarze, 94, of Garrattsville and formerly of Williston Park on Long Island, died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002, at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown.
She was born Oct. 31, 1908, in Brooklyn, the daughter of Thomas and Donalda (Cote) McKeever.
She married George F. Schwarze on June 29, 1929. He predeceased her on Feb. 11, 1962.
Helen was a member of the Church of the Nativity in Edmeston.
She had previously been employed by Sperry Gryoscope in Great Neck as an analyst. After retirement she relocated to Garrattsville to live with her daughter and son-in-law.
Helen had a great love for all her family, spending many hours knitting, crocheting, or tatting beautiful sweaters and afghans.
She was also very proud of being a blood donor.
Helen is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Roger Nelsen; two grandchildren and their spouses, Peter and Sue Nelsen, and Sue and Tim Eschler; four great-grandchildren, Danny, Holly, Candance and Dana; her brother, Robert McKeever; and her sister, Dorothy Morganstern.
She was also predeceased by her sister, Donalda Ellsworth.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002, at The Church of the Nativity, Edmeston, with Fr. John Burns officiating.
Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, at the Houk-Johnston-Terry Funeral Home, Edmeston. Burial will be at Hillington Cemetery following the funeral service.
Contributions may be made in Helen's memory to the Garrattsville Emergency Squad.
