Ruby Montgomery
EDMESTON — Ruby May Montgomery of Edmeston died Monday, Aug. 26, 2002, at The Meadows in Middlefield.
She was born on May 13, 1911, in Centralia, Ill., the daughter of George A. Clapper and Ada (Johnson) Clapper.
She was married to Clyde Robert Goodier on Sept. 23, 1931. He died April 24, 1970. She then married Irving Montgomery on April 3, 1982. He died in March of 1989.
She was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Edmeston, and a former member of the Edmeston Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
She had been employed at the Kraft Foods Plant in South Edmeston for many years as well as working at several Edmeston area shops over the years.
Ruby will be remembered for her crocheting and her love of her family.
She is survived by a daughter, Beverly Colegrove and husband, John, of Edmeston; her grandchildren, John Colegrove Jr. of Hudson, Nadine Lasher and husband, Victor, of Garrattsville, Nanette Fikes and husband, Terry, of Burlington Flats, Isabelle Tophoven and husband, Timothy, of Edmeston, and Chad Goodier and wife, Lisa, of Hinesville, Ga. She was also blessed by her great-grandchildren, Cassandra and Matthew Fikes, Ashley and Denver Colegrove, Thomas and Sueellyn Tophoven, Nicholas and Michaela Lasher, and Hannah and Gavin Goodier.
She was predeceased by a son, Gary Goodier, who died May 24, 1986; a sister, Opal Hawkins; and three brothers, Everett, Harry and Laurel Clapper.
Calling hours will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Houk-Johnston-Terry Funeral Home on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2002, from the Second Baptist Church in Edmeston.
Committal services and burial will be in the Edmeston Union Cemetery in Edmeston.
Funeral arrangements are by the Houk-Johnston-Terry Funeral Home of Edmeston.

Sprague, Marion (Livingston) 1911-2002 Middlefield NY Obituary

MIDDLEFIELD — Marion Sprague, 91, of The Meadows and formerly of Oneonta died Friday, Sept. 13, 2002, at The Meadows in Middlefield.
She was born in Morris on June 21, 1911, the daughter of Delos and Florence E. (Bailey) Livingston.
She was married to Milton Osborn and then to Harold Sprague. They are both deceased.
As a child, she attended the one-room schoolhouse in Dimmock Hollow. She lived a full rich life and was loved by all her family and friends and will be missed by all.
She is survived by her daughter, Wanda Predmore and husband, LeRoy of South Otselic; her grandchildren, Barbara Young of Sherburne and Bill Cane of New Berlin; several great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and great-great-great-grandchildren; making five generations.
She was predeceased by a son, Robert Osborn; and granddaughter, Shirley Hollenbeck.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002, at the Johnston Funeral Home in Morris, with the Rev. Keith VanDewerker of the West End Community Baptist Church officiating. Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. on Wednesday until service time at 1 p.m.
Burial will be in Hillington Cemetery in Morris at a later date.
Funeral arrangements are by the Johnston Funeral Home of Morris.

James F. Talbot
MORRIS — James Francis Talbot, 91, of Morris died Monday, Sept. 23, 2002, at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta.
He was born in Burlington Flats on May 23, 1911, the son of Dr. Harold Ward Talbot and Beatrice (Smith) Talbot.
He attended West Winfield Central School until his father's death, at which time he went to live with his paternal grandparents until he was 15 years old. He then lived with his maternal grandparents in Binghamton.
He was married to Mildred (Richards) Talbot on May 25, 1934, in Morris. She died March 7, 1989.
James worked in the defense plant in Detroit and then at the Scintilla Corp. of Sidney, as a machinist for more than 35 years.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, James Talbot and wife, Marjorie, of South Carolina, Gary Talbot and wife, Joanne of Gilbertsville, Thomas Talbot and wife, Winifred of New Lisbon, and Michael Talbot and wife, Christine of Gilbertsville. He was blessed with 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
There will be no calling hours.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002, at the Johnston Funeral Home in Morris, with the Rev. Randolph Palada officiating.
Committal service and burial will be in the Hillington Cemetery in Morris.
In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to donate to the Morris Emergency Squad in his memory. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by the Johnston Funeral Home of Morris.
