Margaret Stafford

MORRIS — Margaret Austin Stafford, 86, of Morris, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2002, at Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown.
She was born in Greensboro, N.C., on Feb. 3, 1915, the daughter of Arthur L. Austin and Elizabeth Albright Rose Austin.
She married Richard Bradt Stafford in Arlington, N.J., on June 22, 1935. He died May 31, 1975.
She was a resident of Morris for more than 65 years and had formerly lived in Southern Pines, N.C., Knoxville, Tenn., and Arlington, N.J.
Peg had worked for the Gabriel Harris Jewelers of Oneonta for many years.
She was a very active member of the Morris Baptist Church.
She is survived by her two sons, Richard B. Stafford Jr. of Baldwinsville and Peter Stafford of Morris; and seven grandchildren including, Scott Stafford of Durham, N.C., Heather Stafford of Fuquay'Varna, N.C., Jennifer of Redondo Beach, Calif., Holly Stafford of San Francisco, Calif., Peter Stafford II of North Brookfield, Mass., Kimberly Wilkerson of Little Elm, Texas, and Mark Page of Garland, Texas. She is also survived by three great-granddaughters, Paige Wilkerson of Little Elm, Texas, Sarah Page of Garland, Texas, and Colleen Stafford of North Brookfield, Mass. A sister, Virginia Lull, also survives her.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Virginia Stafford Page; and a brother, John Austin.
Calling hours will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, at the Johnston Funeral Home in Morris and funeral services will be on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002, at 1 p.m. at the Morris Baptist Church in Morris, with the Rev. J. Mark Norlund, dear friend and former pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in the Hillington Cemetery in Morris at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to donate to either the Morris Baptist Church or the Morris Emergency Squad in Peg's memory.
Funeral arrangements are by the Johnston Funeral Home of Morris.

MORRIS — Committal services for Mrs. Stafford, 86, who died Jan. 20, 2002, will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 20, 2002, at the Stafford family plot in Hillington Cemetery in Morris.
