Frank Mason

NEW LISBON — Frank "Barney" Mason, 91, of New Lisbon, comfortably passed away at his home on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002.
He was born in New York City on Sept. 6, 1910, the son of William and Mary (O'Dea) Mason.
He married Veronica Smith on July 2, 1939, and loved her till the end.
He served his country as a staff sergeant in the United States Army in the European Theater during WWII.
He owned and operated a fish market in Brooklyn until 1963 when he and his family moved to New Lisbon, where he worked for the Bendix Corp. of Sidney for 15 years. Since his retirement, he took great pleasure in reading, feeding birds and enjoying the quiet of the country. He was always a gentleman.
He is survived by his wife, Veronica Mason; his son, William Mason, and his wife, Deborah; his daughter, Kathaleen Mason; and his grandchildren, Christopher and Erin, who all adored him.
As per his wishes, no calling hours or funeral services will be held at this time.
Those who wish are asked to donate to the Garrattsville Emergency Squad in his memory.
Funeral arrangements are by the Johnston Funeral Home of Morris.
