Nancy C. Bronson
MORRIS — Nancy C. (Martin) Bronson, of Morris, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at home, following a lengthy illness.
Nancy
was born in Mystic, Conn., on June 28, 1937, the daughter of Rhoda
(Hicks) and the late Earl J. Martin of Otego. She lived in Mystic,
Conn., and Bethpage, before marrying her husband, Norman Bronson, in
Syracuse. Moving to Otego early in their marriage, they purchased a
100-acre dairy farm outside of Morris, where they raised three children.
She
was a member of the former Susquehanna Valley Grange. She loved her
family and all of her animals, especially cats and enjoyed tending to
her vegetable and flower gardens.
Nancy is survived by her
husband, Norman, of 54 years; a son, Brian, Bellflower, Calif.; and two
daughters and sons-in-law, Betty Lou and John Adamovich, Schoharie and
Beth and William Troop, Beach Lake, Pa.; her mother, Rhoda Martin, of
Otego; four brothers, Gilbert (and Maree) Martin, Raleigh, N.C., Earl
(and Patty) Martin Jr., Georgetown, Mass., Harry (and Barbara) Martin,
Otego, Glenn (and Teddye) Martin, Taylorsville, Ga.; two sisters, Vera
Hotaling, South Kortright and Beth (and Frank) Westcott, Moravia; four
grandchildren, Robert Troop, Virginia, Sarah Troop, Pennsylvania,
Catherine (Wilson) Troop, Georgia, Angelina Adamovich, Schoharie; one
great-grandchild, Madison Shafer, Beach Lake, Pa.; two cousins; and
numerous loving nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, Earl J. Martin and a sister, Alicia.
In
lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catskill Area Hospice and
Palliative Care, Friends of Bassett, ASPCA, and Morris Emergency Squad.
Calling
hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, at the Johnston
Funeral Home in Morris. Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday
May 20, at the United Methodist Church in Morris and the family will
receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time at the church.
Interment will follow in the Hillington Cemetery in Morris. Arrangements are by the Johnston Funeral Home of Morris.
