GILBERTSVILLE — Rupert R. Hunt Jr., 68, of Gilbertsville, went home to be with his savior on Monday, Oct. 2, 2000. He passed away in Sidney.
He was born on June 10, 1932, in the town of Morris, the son of Rupert P. and Irene (Jordan) Hunt Sr.
He married Doris Blankley on June 10, 1952. She survives.
He spent his childhood in the Morris and Gilbertsville areas. He attended Morris High School.
Rupert is survived by his children, Donald and Julie Hunt of Gilbertsville, Debra and Richard Amick of Warren, Mich., and Daniel Hunt of Gilbertsville; grandchildren, Stacy and Andrew Hunt and Alicia, Matthew and James Amick; brother and sister, Sylvia and James Johnson of Granville and John and Pat Hunt of Gilbertsville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was a dairy farmer and electrician, water pump installer and a farm material handling systems dealer.
He was councilman for the town of Butternuts.
He was a member of Holmesville Baptist Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher and a deacon for 30 years.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, at 11 a.m. at the Holmesville Baptist Church, South New Berlin, with the Rev. Romeyn Kipp, pastor of the Holmesville Baptist Church, officiating.
Calling hours will be Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, from 10 to 11 a.m. preceding the funeral at the Holmesville Baptist Church, South New Berlin. Interment will be held at the Butternut Valley Cemetery at Copes Corners.
Memorial donations may be made to the Gilbertsville Emergency Squad or the Holmesville Baptist Church.
Funeral arrangements are by the Dakin Funeral Home, New Berlin.
