MRS.
EMMA EDMONDS
Emma Peet Risley Edmonds, 76, passed away Monday,
January 27, at her home in Hartwick, following a shock. Mrs. Edmonds
was born in Edmeston February 22, 1858, the daughter of Levi Peet and
Caroline Walters. Her early life was spent in this community. She
was twice married, her first husband being Herbert Risley and the
second husband Loren Edmonds. She was a member of the Christian
Church at Hartwick for over forty years and much of her life was
spent in Hartwick and New Lisbon.
Surviving are three sons, William Risley, George
Risley and Edward Risley, all of Hartwick; three sisters, Mrs.
Nellie Harris of Waterville, Mrs. Olive Burdick of Edmeston and Mrs.
Maude Parkin of New York, one brother, Ray Peet of Edmeston; and
eight grandchildren.
The funeral was held from the Maxwell Funeral Home
and later at the Christian Church. The Rev. R. C. Updyke officiated
assisted by the Rev. L. N. Davis, pastor of the Methodist church.
The body was placed in the Hartwick Cemetery for burial in the
spring.
