HARRY
B. ROBBINS
Mr. Harry B. Robbins, 69, Town of Columbus, died
June 12, 1974 at his home following a long illness. He was born
October 29, 1904 at Shickshinny, Pa., son of Ai and Gwen (Parry)
Robbins.
Mr. Robbins was twice married: First to Edith Sult
Shaffer on December 24, 1925, who died September 5, 1947 and second
to Frances Bingham, June 24, 1950, who survives.
Other survivors include two daughters: Mrs. Arthur
(Virginia) Boice and Mrs. Donald (Violet) Elliott, both of New
Berlin; step-son, Leroy Shaffer, Star Route, Norwich; 14
grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; four sisters: Mrs. John
(Beulah) Roberts of Shickshinny, Pa., Mrs. Lloyd (Anna) Slentz of
Manlius, Mrs. Morris (Letty) Blanding of Harrisburg, Pa., Mrs.
Herbert (Amanda) Lyon of South New Berlin; one brother, Ivor Robbins
of Wolcott; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Robbins was a member and trustee of Columbus
Community Church; Phoebus Lodge F. & A. M., New Berlin;
Yahnundahsis Bodies, Mohawk Valley Consistory; Southern Tier Shrine
Club; Ziyara Temple of Shrine, Utica. Mr. Robbins was a farmer for
many years and for 17 years he was an employee of Kraft Foods, South
Edmeston, retiring in 1967. He served for one term as an assessor in
the Town of Columbus.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 15 from the
Columbus community Church with Rev. Stanley Wilson of Norwich, former
Columbus pastor, officiating. Burial was made in the Sherburne West
Hill Cemetery.
