Garrattsville Dies
New
Lisbon, March 22---George Adrian Gregory died at his home at Garrattsville at 2 o'clock this morning. Death was due to a
complication of diseases from which he had suffered for some time.
He was 76. The funeral, which will be private, will be held at his
late home Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock. Rev. C. E. Vermilyea, D.
D., will officiate. Interment will be in Butternut Valley cemetery.
Mr.
Gregory was born in the town of New Lisbon February 22, 1859. His
parents were James A. and Martha (Benjamin) Gregory. Surviving are
his wife, Madge Newitt, three children by a former marriage, Lynn of
Dillion, Mont., George, Jr. of Rapid City. S. D., and Mrs. Clark
Suits of Cramer's Corners, and three grandchildren, Helen Gregory of
Rapid city, James and Edna Suits of Cramer's Corners. He also
leaves one brother, John B. Gregory of Garrattsville.
Mr.
Gregory taught school in various localities in the Butternut and
Mohawk valleys for 49 years. He retired about 12 years ago and came
to his native home at Garrattsville, where he had since resided. A
member of the Baptist church at Welcome, he was well and favorably
known by a wide circle of friends.
