Succumbs at Welcome
New Lisbon, July 26---Mrs. Chauncey A. Yager died at
her home at Welcome at 3:45 this morning. She succumbed to
complications following a three-month illness.
Funeral services will be hld Tuesday afternoon. A
prayer service for the family will be held at the home at 1:30,
followed by services in the Baptist church at Welcome at 2 o'clock,
Rev. C. J. Hurlbutt, pastor of the Baptist church, will officiate.
Interment will be made in Lena cemetery.
Laura May Thortz was born at New Lisbon, July 2,
1890, the only daughter of Henry and Jennie (Babcock) Thortz.
Novenber 27, 1913, she married Mr. Yager at new Lisbon.
Practically her entire life had been spent on the
farm where she died. She was a member of the Welcome Baptist church
and a woman of unusual quietness, much devoted to her home and
family.
Surviving besides her husband are nine children,
Stanley Yager of Hartwick, Gertrude, Alice, Doris, Thelma, Ada,
Martha, Ellanav and Chauncey, Jr., all residing at home; her
mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Harrington, of Lena,
and one half sister, Mrs. Morris Chase of Hartwick. Many friends
will join the family in its sorrow.
