S. Miller
Elbert S. Miller, 83, of 15 Greene St., Oxford, N. Y., died
Friday, April 23, 1971 at his home following a long illness.
He is survived by his wife, the former Fannie Smith, Oxford; two
daughters, Mrs. Wenzel (Florence) Roth, Encino, Calif., and Mrs.
Gustave (Wanda) Heck, of Binghamton; 1 son, Russell Miller,
Cazenovia; ten grandchildren, uncluding Mrs. Frances Kurau,
Binghamton, 29 great-grandchildren, and 3 great,
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. From the Baptist
church of Oxford with the Rev. George F. Dutton, pastor of the Oxford
Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial followed at Riverview
Cemetery, Oxford.
Addendum: Elbert Salisbury Miller was born June 11, 1987, the
youngest of 6 children of Edward P. and Martha Ann Lewis Miller at
East McDonough, Chenango County, NY.
His siblings were Annette 1871-1909, Hattie 1874-1936, Bertha Maud
1876-1948, and Lovisa E. 1878-1905 and Tracy Elnathan Miller
1883-1946.
His first wife was Inez M. Levisee (1887-sometime before 1820). She
was the mother of his 5 children: Lucy Lovisa 1905-1926, Russell
Budd 1907-1997, Florence Louise 1909-1996, Lowell N. 1910-1910, and
Wanda Myrtle 1911-1990.
He married Fannie Mae Smith in 1820 and they celebrated their 50th
Anniversary in 1970. She died in 1972.
Martha Maud (Miller) Gale, Elbert's sister, was mother to my Uncle
Edward Gale.
