Ida Burch, Hartwick,
Dies at Family Residence
Hartwick, May 8---Mrs. Ida T. Burch, 77, beloved
wife of Orlo S. Burch, passed away Sunday afternoon at her home in
Main street. Death was caused by complication of diseases.
Mrs. Burch was born February 23, 1855, in Laporte,
Ind., the daughter of James and Lany (Pierce) Allison. She came to
Hartwick when eight years of age and has since resided in this
village. She was married to Orlo Burch January 30, 1878. Mr. and
Mrs. Burch celebrated their golden wedding anniversary January 30
1928. She was a member of the Hartwick Methodist Episcopal church
and acted as Sunday school superintendent for several years. She was
a devoted Christian and a woman highly respected in this community.
Surviving besides her husband are one son, A. Monroe
Burch, and one grandson, Orlo Burch, Hartwick; two cousins, Mrs.
Fannie Baker, Syracuse, and Mrs. Hortense Maynard, Cooperstown. Her
only daughter, Mrs. J. D. McAllister, passed away last November.
Funeral services will be held from the family home
Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. George A. Roberts, pastor of
the Hartwick Methodist Episcopal church, will officiate. Interment
will be in the family plot of the Hartwick cemetery.
