MRS. EMMA EDMONDS

Emma Peet Risley Edmonds, 76, passed away Monday, January 27, at her home in Hartwick, following a shock. Mrs. Edmonds was born in Edmeston February 22, 1858, the daughter of Levi Peet and Caroline Walters. Her early life was spent in this community. She was twice married, her first husband being Herbert Risley and the second husband Loren Edmonds. She was a member of the Christian Church at Hartwick for over forty years and much of her life was spent in Hartwick and New Lisbon.
Surviving are three sons, William Risley, George Risley and Edward Risley, all of Hartwick; three sisters, Mrs. Nellie Harris of Waterville, Mrs. Olive Burdick of Edmeston and Mrs. Maude Parkin of New York, one brother, Ray Peet of Edmeston; and eight grandchildren.
The funeral was held from the Maxwell Funeral Home and later at the Christian Church. The Rev. R. C. Updyke officiated assisted by the Rev. L. N. Davis, pastor of the Methodist church. The body was placed in the Hartwick Cemetery for burial in the spring.

Herrick Funeral Services To Be Held Today

Cooperstown---Funeral services for Walter Herrick, 81, who died Sunday morning in a Rochester hospital, will be held this afternoon at 2 from the Ingalls funeral home here. Rev. Dr. Wilbur S. Sheriff, First Baptist pastor, will officiate, and interment will be made in Lakewood cemetery.
Born in Masonville Jan. 27, 1859, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Herrick, the greater portion of his life had been spent in Albany and Rochester, where he was a landscape gardener. He also lived for a time in Bowerstown, near this village.
Surviving are two sons, Frank Herrick of Beaver Meadow road, and George Herrick of Pierstown; two brothers, Dr. Charles Herrick of Unadilla; and another living in Massachusetts; two grandchildren, Mrs. Edwin Weeks of Cooperstown, and Vaughan Herrick of Sidney; three great grandchildren, Sandra Mae Herrick of Sidney, Edwin John, and Frances Lee Weeks of Cooperstown.

Addendum:  By checking my Ancestry.com page on Walter C. Herrick, I can add this information:  His parents were John Herrick, Jr. 1832-1906 and Hannah Mariah Rulofson 1830-1904.  He married Hattie D. Smith Dec. 2, 1883 and they had three sons:  Frank A. Herrick 1884-1968, George Floyd Herrick 1887-, and Walter R. Herrick born 1890.  Hattie was 
born 1859 and died 1920.
